The Sóller Botanic Garden was founded in 1985 and opened to the public in 1992. It is a centre for the conservation, study and understanding of Mediterranean flora, and specifically that of the Balearic Islands.
At this moment, we can find in the Botanical Garden of Sóller 942 different species of wild, making a total of 5.650 plants; approximately, a every 10 m2 there are, at least, one different species. In the Balearic area you can find 128 endemic species, to the Canary Islands 110 and in the other Mediterranean islands area about 200.
