With the "Peace Symbol" there is a message of tranquillity and love, referring to the word SANTINIKETAN, the name of the school where the hindu poet R. Tagore (1861-1941) studied to obtain peace through thought, necessary for balance in life, uniting the ancient hindu system with more modern educational methods. All classes were given outdoors, in contact with nature, the objective being to awaken an understanding in the children, through a manner of personal study stimulating their development in a natural way.
